Divorce

Divorce (or the dissolution of marriage) in South African law directly refers to the termination of a marital union. Furthermore, the inclusion and cancellation of legal duties and responsibilities and the dissolving of the bonds of matrimony between a married couple are undertaken.

Divorce can be unopposed and opposed, depending the situation. In some cases an unopposed divorce would be concluded if both parties reach an agreeable settlement, however opposed divorce arises when both parties fail to agree upon certain terms in the divorce in most instances it is dealing with assets, investments, care and access of minor children.
